While adding a video note to your PDF with BaseStation is simple, many users tell us they sometimes prefer a quick voice explanation instead, as video clips don’t always feel the most presentable. That’s why, in early January 2025, we introduced this feature.

Here’s how you add voice notes to your PDF on BaseStation.

Step 1. Hover over the “Add content button”

Navigate to the document you want to add notes to, then hover over the “Add Content” button.

The “Add Content” button will transform into two options: “Add Video” and “Add Voice Note.”

Click on the “Add voice note button”.

Step 2: Choose the location to place your voice note

Step 3: Edit the name and click record

Make sure you name this note highlighting the content you're adding context to, so your viewer can easily find it.

Step 4: Record the voice note and play it back

You can retake your recording as many times as you like until you’re satisfied, then simply click “Save.”

Give your voice note a memorable name so you can easily find and reuse it later—trust me, this will save you a ton of time!

Step 5: Verify

Click “Preview” to see exactly what your document’s viewers will experience when they open the PDF.
